About

The National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, is a landmark cultural venue built in 1976 for the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC '77). Its distinctive hat-shaped dome, inspired by a military officer's cap, sits on the edge of the Lagos Lagoon. The theatre complex houses exhibition halls, a cinema, conference facilities, and the National Gallery of Art.
