We collect only what we need. Email and phone are never public. You can remove your profile. You can request deletion.

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how JoinBody collects, uses, stores, displays, and deletes information during the Community Mobilizers phase.

It applies to the JoinBody website, Community Mobilizer registration, public Community Mobilizer profiles, JoinBody Makerspace Workshop coordination, participation-related communication, and related admin review work.

The JoinBody website and system are coordinated by Festa Design Studio. This is why privacy questions, profile requests, withdrawal requests, and deletion requests are directed to hello@festa.design.

Current state of JoinBody

JoinBody is co designing with communities that understand volunteering.

We are inviting Community Mobilizers in Nigeria to register, share their real pain points and practical solutions, participate in JoinBody Makerspace Workshop activities, and help shape what a trusted volunteer marketplace should become.

JoinBody is not yet a full volunteer marketplace. The current website does not provide full volunteer matching, opportunity search, organization dashboards, payments, or public volunteer marketplace accounts.

Information we collect

We collect what is needed for registration, workshops, review, and communication.

When you register, we may collect your full name, a public display name if different, email address, and phone or WhatsApp number if you provide one.

  • Full name and optional public display name
  • Email address; phone or WhatsApp number if you provide one
  • Your state in Nigeria, or a location you type
  • Organisation or initiative name, and your role or title
  • Type of mobilizer and your area of community work
  • Who you usually mobilize, and how you mobilize people (a free-text description)
  • The community coordination challenge you face most often (free text)
  • Your public profile preference
  • An optional profile photo

For participation, we may collect your interest in the Makerspace Workshop, your participation commitment, your typed signature for the Letter of Participation, your consent to receive updates, and your consent for internal evidence or reporting use.

Some information is collected for internal understanding only and is never shown on your public profile, for example the groups you usually mobilize.

The website also stores basic technical information to operate and protect the service: form submission times, basic device and browser information, security logs, and a hashed (not reversible) record of the IP address and browser used when you give consent. This is minimized and used for security and reliability.

Information we do not collect

JoinBody does not ask for payment, bank, ID, contact lists, or unrelated account access.

  • Payment or bank account information
  • Government ID or home address
  • Passwords for unrelated or third-party services
  • Contact lists from your phone, email, or social accounts
  • Private messages from WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, or other channels
  • Health, religion, ethnicity, or political information, unless you choose to include something relevant in your own free-text answer

How we use your information

  • Create and manage Community Mobilizer records
  • Contact mobilizers about next steps
  • Review public profile preferences and publish approved public profiles when consented
  • Coordinate Makerspace Workshop sessions, agenda, reminders, attendance, and completion
  • Prepare Letter of Participation and Certificate of Participation records
  • Understand common challenges and shape JoinBody’s first marketplace prototype
  • Improve trust, safety, accessibility, and communication, using minimized or anonymized information where possible

Public Community Mobilizer profiles

Public Community Mobilizer profiles are consent-based and admin-reviewed.

If you consent to public display and an admin approves your profile, JoinBody may show selected public information such as your name or public name, role or title, organisation, general location, mobilizer type, and area of community work.

A short version of the challenge or motivation you write may appear on your public profile as a short quote. If you choose “Other” for your mobilizer type, the description you type becomes your public mobilizer-type label. An admin may also add approved social or website links to a public profile.

JoinBody must never publicly show your email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, internal notes, admin classification, private consent records, private workshop notes, private document links, or any rejected, hidden, or internal-only profile information.

Public profile review and removal

A public profile does not appear automatically just because someone registers. Public profiles appear only after consent and admin review.

You can ask JoinBody to hide, remove, or update your public profile, remove your photo or social links, or change your public display preference. You do not need to explain why.

JoinBody Makerspace Workshop privacy

The JoinBody Makerspace Workshop is a guided collaborative session where Community Mobilizers share practical experience before the marketplace is built. It may happen through an external tool such as Google Meet or a digital board selected by JoinBody.

For workshop coordination we may use your information to send details, agenda, and reminders, track attendance, record completion, and capture workshop themes and insights. We prefer anonymized or aggregated workshop insights for reporting, prototype planning, and public updates.

Letters, certificates, and recognition

JoinBody may use registration and participation information to prepare a Letter of Participation or Certificate of Participation. Registration alone does not automatically qualify someone for all participation benefits.

Eligibility decisions are reviewed internally and do not expose private notes publicly.

Email and updates

If you opt in to updates, JoinBody may email you about registration confirmation, Makerspace Workshop details, agenda and reminders, prototype testing opportunities, profile review requests, and Letter or Certificate availability.

You can unsubscribe from optional updates. Operational messages, such as confirming a removal or deletion request, may still be sent to complete your request.

How we protect information

  • Secure HTTPS access and admin-only access to private records
  • Role-based permissions and signed links for private documents
  • Rate limiting and bot protection
  • Audit logs for sensitive admin actions
  • Validation and sanitization of form inputs
  • Avoiding public exposure of private fields

No system can guarantee perfect security, but JoinBody minimizes the data it collects and protects what it stores.

How to make a request

To request profile removal, withdrawal, correction, unsubscribe support, or deletion, contact JoinBody at hello@festa.design or use the request form. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request is coming from the right person. We will not ask you to explain your reasons.

Children and vulnerable users

JoinBody is not designed as a service for children. If we learn that information was submitted by or about someone who should not have been included, we will remove it when we verify the request.

Changes to this policy

JoinBody may update this Privacy Policy as the project changes. When the policy changes, the public page shows the current version, effective date, and last updated date. Major changes create a new published version.

Remove, withdraw, or delete

You can ask to remove your public profile, withdraw from Makerspace participation, unsubscribe from updates, correct your information, or delete your personal information.

When you request deletion, JoinBody deletes your personal information after verifying the request. If anonymized or aggregated workshop insights have already been used for internal learning, those may remain only when they no longer identify you.

Privacy questions and requests

If you have privacy questions or want to make a request, contact JoinBody at the address below. JoinBody’s website and system are coordinated by Festa Design Studio, which receives these requests on JoinBody’s behalf.
