Central Mosque of Lagos (Idumagbo)

About

The Lagos Central Mosque, located on Lagos Island at Idumagbo, is one of the oldest and most prominent mosques in southern Nigeria. Originally established in 1894 and rebuilt multiple times, the current structure features a distinctive modernist dome and twin minarets that dominate the Lagos Island skyline. The mosque reflects the long history of Islam among the Yoruba, particularly the Aworis and Muslim settlers from Brazil and Sierra Leone.
