The Calabar Carnival, officially known as "Africa's Biggest Street Party", is an annual festival held every December in Calabar, Cross River State. Launched in 2004, the carnival has grown into a major cultural event featuring elaborate costumes, music, dance, and processions through the city streets. It draws on the rich cultural heritage of the Cross River region, including Efik, Ejagham, and Bekwarra traditions, and has become a symbol of Nigeria's creative energy and cultural diversity.
