Five members of the JoinBody Collective met for the first time to shape a consumer-grade discovery layer for Nigeria's fragmented volunteer system.

Abayomi reached out to the collective members because each one shares something with what JoinBody is trying to build. On April 27, 2026, five of them met for the first time as a collective: Abayomi, Tolu, Tania, Cristina, and Adeleke.

What JoinBody is

JoinBody is building a consumer-grade discovery layer for volunteering in Nigeria. One simple, trusted place where everyday Nigerians can find verified opportunities to give back.

The problem we are solving

Nigeria's volunteer system is fragmented. NRCS, NYSC, NNVS, UNV, NGOs, faith communities, and WhatsApp groups all hold pieces of it, but no consumer-grade front door exists. Millions of people who want to volunteer cannot find their way in.

Why each of us said yes

I built JoinBody because I wanted to use it. When I came back to Nigeria I could not find one place to discover real volunteer opportunities.

Abayomi

I have spent years working across the human-capital side of social and corporate spaces. A volunteering platform with consumer-grade reach is what is missing, and the demand is already there. Two weeks ago I organised a volunteer network across 57 local governments in two weeks. People want to volunteer. They just need the platform.

Tolu

I have worked in Nigeria's arts community for over a decade and I travel back every year. For years I wanted to volunteer in Northern Nigeria but no verification system existed for me to do it safely. JoinBody is building that trust layer.

Tania

I work in international development and the fragmentation problem in Nigeria's volunteer ecosystem is something I had already noticed on my own. When I read JoinBody's manifesto, the problem was framed exactly the way I would have framed it. That is why I said yes.

Cristina

I am on the ground in Lagos, running a foundation for children and an adopted public garden as a CSR project. I want a system that opens giving back to everyone, children, adults, senior citizens.

Adeleke

What we are building in 2026

If you organise other Nigerians to volunteer, through an NGO, a CBO, a faith community, a CSR programme, or a grassroots WhatsApp group, the next four things we do are for you. Each is an open invitation.

  1. For people already bringing others together. JoinBody is for organizers, coordinators, founders, and trusted community connectors, NGO founders, volunteer coordinators, civic and grassroots leaders, faith and youth organizers, and the informal mobilizers people already turn to when action is needed. If that is you, register here in two steps.
  2. Design-thinking workshops with mobilizers. We will run workshops with at least ten community mobilizers to design the safe and trusted volunteer system Nigerians actually need, starting with the Makerspace workshop.
  3. A working prototype for mobilizers to test. By the end of 2026 we will have a working volunteer marketplace prototype. If you want to be one of the first to use it, and shape what it becomes, register.
  4. A shared long-term plan with the collective. We are writing JoinBody's Theory of Change, our five-to-ten year picture of what ending volunteer fragmentation in Nigeria actually looks like.
