Cocoa House Ibadan

About

Cocoa House in Ibadan, completed in 1965, was the first skyscraper in tropical Africa. Built at 26 stories tall, it was financed entirely from cocoa export revenues of the Western Region, symbolizing the economic self-sufficiency and agricultural wealth of the Yoruba people. The building remains a landmark of post-independence Nigerian ambition and regional development.
