Aso Rock Presidential Complex

About

Aso Rock is a 400-meter monolith that serves as the backdrop to Nigeria's seat of federal government in Abuja. The Presidential Villa, National Assembly, and Supreme Court are all situated at its base. The rock holds significance for the Gbagyi people, the original inhabitants of the Abuja area, and its selection as the location for the national capital in 1976 was partly due to its central geographic position and symbolic gravitas.
